The get a striper brush to make horizontal lines across the nail from one side to the other with a black nail polish, this should look like a string. OmG Hello Kitty Dream House

Hello Kitty Castle — Uni Resort Mawudu, Hsinchu, Taiwan. Hello Kitty theme is all around it. Sanrio fans would definitely like it. Even though its design is a bit overwhelming for a full-size home it’s ok when the home is for vacations only. Seems this one is built exactly for that purpose. Rent this house, take your kids and go for the best vacations ever !
If  Hello Kitty had a baby with Barbie’s dream house, it would look like the Hello Kitty Castle. The exterior of the bubblegum-pink two-story house is decorated with images of Kitty’s face, bows, and roses, and its windows are adorned with window boxes filled with red flowers. It’s much the same inside: all the rooms are pink, with embellishments like plush magenta bows on the couches, carvings of Hello Kitty fitted onto cupboards, and a rug in the shape of a rose bloom..

Back !!

My lovely readers, I'm so sorry to keep you waiting for new posts for so long. Like in my life I get really excited about stuff quickly, but then it passes and I often wouldn't finish my projects. Because this blog is an ongoing project I fall in and out just like that. I find passion to write and post delicious stuff, but then it passes.

Hurricane Irene in New York !!!

Here's the latest on Hurricane Irene. It is still a Category 1 hurricane centered about 300 miles south of the city and moving this way at about 13 mph. The first rain band from the storm reached the city early this evening. While the maximum intensity of Irene has diminished somewhat it will still be a large and dangerous hurricane when it makes landfall.
Wind and rain are usually the media stars when it comes to hurricanes but it is the storm surge that typically causes the most damage. While the peak winds of Irene may weaken before it reaches the city the storm surge will not. The high tides will be unusually high and the storm surge is going to be on top of them. There is a small chance that the surge will be high enough to flow over the not very high seawall in lower Manhattan.

The area of hurricane force winds is about 85 miles across and tropical storm force winds cover an area several hundred miles in diameter. This, coupled with Irene's slow northward movement means we are in for many hours of high winds. The National Weather Service expects the winds to pick up to 25-30 mph soon and increase to 35-45 mph, with gusts to 60 mph overnight. Peak winds will occur tomorrow morning, when they will be blowing at a sustained 50-70 mph with gusts to 80 mph. Irene's winds increase sharply with height above the ground. The winds will be roughly 20 percent faster at 30 stories above ground and 30 percent faster at 80 stories and above.

The rain that occurred earlier today was enough to make this month the rainiest August ever recorded at Central Park. Yay? The Weather Service expects another 6-10 inches of rain from the rest of the storm.

Bananas Foster Recipe

"Bananas Foster" Recipe

Recipe from the "Last Holiday" movie with Queen Latifah!

Bananas Foster (dessert made from bananas and vanilla ice cream)

For The Bananas:

  • 4 ripe bananas, peeled
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1 cup packed light brown sugar
  • 3/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup banana liqueur
  • 1/2 cup dark rum
  • 1 pint Vanilla Ice Cream, recipe follows, or good quality store bought vanilla ice cream

Vanilla Ice Cream:

  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • 2 cups whole milk
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1 vanilla bean, split in 1/2 lengthwise
  • 6 large egg yolks

Method:

For the bananas:

  • Cut the bananas in half across and then lengthwise.
  • Melt the butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the brown sugar and cinnamon and cook, stirring, until the sugar dissolves, about 2 minutes. Add the bananas and turning, cook on both sides until the bananas start to soften and brown, about 3 minutes. Add the banana liqueur and stir to blend into the caramel sauce. Carefully add the rum and shake the pan back and forth to warm the rum and flame the pan. (Or, off the heat, carefully ignite the pan with a match and return to the heat.) Shake the pan back and forth, basting the bananas, until the flame dies.
  • Divide the ice cream among 4 dessert plates. Gently lift the bananas from the pan and place 4 pieces on each scoop of ice cream. Spoon the sauce over the ice cream and bananas, and serve immediately.

For the vanilla ice cream:
  • Combine the cream, milk, sugar, and vanilla seeds and bean in a medium heavy saucepan and bring to a gentle boil over medium heat. Remove from the heat.
  • Beat the egg yolks in a medium bowl until frothy and lemon colored, about 2 minutes. Whisk 1 cup of the hot cream into the egg yolks in a slow, steady stream. Gradually add the egg mixture to the hot cream, whisking constantly. Cook over medium-low heat, stirring occasionally, until the mixture thickens enough to coat the back of a spoon, about 5 minutes.
  • Remove from the heat and strain through a fine mesh strainer into a clean bowl. Cover with plastic wrap, pressing it directly against the surface of the mixture to keep a skin from forming. Refrigerate until well chilled, about 2 hours.
  • Pour the mixture into an ice cream maker and freeze according to the manufacturer’s instructions. Transfer to an airtight container and freeze until ready to serve.
Yield: 1 quart

It can be seen everywhere: on clothes, jewelry, accessories, in notebooks in school, on the underwear, even on machines. Hello Kitty, Footnote cat without a mouth, has ever been obsessed with girls and teenagers (not to mention the girls grew up a small that before an earring on Hello Kitty yet can not resist regardless having passed childhood and adolescence for a long time!). The white kitten could not miss out on the nails of his fans, do not you think? And here is a Nail Art devoted to her. Merely for Hello Kitty addicted!

Brighten up the outdoors with easy and inexpensive votive holders made from ice, cranberries and a few household items.

Tools and Materials:

Steps:
1. Fill the bucket with water a couple inches below the desired height, make sure you allow for displacement.

2. Place rocks inside the glass. Place the glass in the center of the bucket. The glass will create a void where you will later place the candle.

Ice-Votive-With-Cranberries
3. Drop fresh cranberries into the water, they will float.
4. Freeze the bucket until the water turns to ice.
5. Hold the outside of bucket under hot water to loosen the glass then pop it out of the center.
6. Place candle in the center hole where the glass used to be and light.

(my new fav show ) MTV’s “Awkward”

Awkward is a comedy-drama about a story of the various personalities found in high school students, including the popular girls, the cute boys, and the outcasts who go unnoticed by both. The story is told from the point of view of Hamilton as she writes about her struggles of being a teenager in an online blog journal.
The show begins after the “accident” that is soon rumored to be a suicide attempt for Jenna and draws the concern of her misunderstanding parents. Her best friend, Tamara, is there for Jenna as a defense against the mean girls, all the while she strives to get the attention of the boy of her dreams, Matty McKibben.

Although I am starting to feel like we already have one too many shows that premise around high school students and their dramatic “troubles” in life, the show seems like it may offer a sense of realism that we can all relate to from our troubled teenage days.

Omg Hello Kitty Wedding Dress !

I guess some girls aren’t too old for this white Japanese cat by Sanrio. Brides with the money to spare for kitsch can shell out $4,000 for a ruffly, pink wedding dress adorned with Hello Kitty’s face. The Hello Kitty wedding dress is exclusively available in Japan, although I’m not entirely sure if they’re licensed by Sanrio to use the image of the white cartoon kitty. Its ornate design is definitely very Japanese though; the large hoop skirt reminds me a little of the royal wedding gowns by Takami Bridal and Jill Stuart.
And if that’s not enough for the hardcore fan, you can apparently get an entire Hello Kitty wedding done at the Daiichi Hanyu hotel chain in Japan. Wedding packages cost somewhere in between $8,717 – $22,275.
Sanrio’s not the only company to offer cartoon-themed weddings for brides who are children at heart. Last year, Disney launched a line of wedding gowns for women who want to look and feel like their favorite fairy tale princess on their wedding day. The most expensive Disney Princess wedding dress is a thousand bucks cheaper than the Hello Kitty wedding dress, probably because Disney gowns are a lot less poofy and busy-looking.
Edit: apparently, there are many Hello Kitty wedding dresses in different styles and colors! Plus, a Hello Kitty tux to dress your groom in.

is emotionless even a word?

is emotionless even a word?

 i'm gonna breathe
and let these emotions invade my mind,
penetrate my blood stream and catalyze my happiness.

i'm gonna leap off waterfalls and close my eyes.
i'm gonna take a deep breath and dive into this situation
which seemed so long ago.

I'd like to raise my head up high,
on a mountain, high.
i want to see the colors blend and the smell's mix.

i want to rejuvinate my soul, i want to feed my mind.
letting nature enstill in my body, slowly taking over my mindset.
I want to be shown what living means.
I want to see my mind wander into far away places, where i can remain safe without doubt.

Take me there, take me to the clouds.
take me beyond the stars and the sky,
Take me to the dream that i once had.
leave me to wither, and become
emotionless.

The MAC Quartz Fusion Eye Shadow.

The MAC Quartz Fusion Eye Shadow for the MAC Semi Precious collection is the multi tasker. I use it as an eye shadow, to highlight & illuminate, and as a blush. The shade is light pink with lots of silver shimmer. It’s a star.
MAC Quartz Fusion Eye Shadow the swatch below…please note the shade would vary based on your skin tone, this is just how it looks on me:)

OMG!! Try This $5 Foundation for a Flawless Look.

Drugstore and beauty supply store makeup have come a long way. In many instances you can find budget-friendly products that perform almost as good as if not just as well as some of the more expensive brands. Case in point: Ruby Kisses 3D Face Creator.

3D Face Creator comes in a plastic compact and each compact has two shades. This is perfect if you’re someone who’s in between shades and likes to custom blend your perfect color or if you’re into contouring. They do an awesome job of covering blemishes and as a creme foundation, you can determine your coverage amount easily. The finish is a bit luminous but you can matte it down a bit with powder. They also come in a great range of shades from light to very deep.

The texture is like a mix of liquid and creme. It’s not as thick as creme foundations usually are which makes them easier to work with and blend. It looks like it would be oily on the skin, but it dries to a semi-matte finish and feels like you have nothing on when you set it with Ruby Kisses HD Set N’ Forget Setting Powder. It wears pretty well, too. No major oil issues when set with the HD powder after eight hours of wear (I have oily skin).
Overall they have decent quality and get this—they’re only about $4-5 or so each depending on the retailer. I had no clue they were so inexpensive! Even if you come across these and have no clue what your color is, you can buy the two closest ones and still spend less than $15. And because each compact has two shades, you have your year-round color at all times. Just blend them until you get the right color particularly if you tend to tan in the summer.

You can typically find Ruby Kisses at your local beauty supply store. Be sure to also check out their website. They have some cool tutorial videos and looks you can try at home.

Have you tried Ruby Kisses before?

Best Beauty Buys !!!

Chubby Sticks

Loaded with nourishing ingredients like mango and shea butter, the Clinique Chubby Stick Moisturizing Lip Colour Balm ($15 each at Macy's) is just what your lips need during the moisture-sapping winter. Choose from eight natural-looking shades and swivel up to get more balm -- > no sharpener required.

Fancy Face Linens

We can't get enough of these Boscia Green Tea Blotting Linens ($10 for 100 sheets at Sephora). Made up of all-natural Abaca leaf fibers, they keep our faces oil-free and now come in fancy Japanese-inspired cases.

Clump Free

We tried the L'Oreal Voluminous Million Lashes Mascara ($8.99 at Walgreens) and fell in love. It's infused with collagen, so it thickens lashes but doesn't clump.

Sugar Lips

The blend of oils and waxes in this Fresh Sugar Plum Tinted Lip Treatment ($22.50 at Fresh) will ensure chapped-free lips during this dreadful winter. It also contains antioxidants and vitamins A, C and E, which provide extra protection from the bitter cold.

Photogenic Primer

Silky and lightweight, this Nyx Cosmetics HD Studio Photogenic Primer ($14 at Nyx Cosmetics) creates a fresh canvas for your makeup. Its high-definition formula helps soften lines and erase the appearance of pores for a really smooth finish -- perfect for pictures!

Spa Water Wipes

These Koh Gen Do Cleansing Spa Water Cloths ($35 for a 3-pack set at Koh Gen Do) wipe away makeup, oils and residue -- no rinsing required. These alcohol-free, oil-free, gentle wipes are made with thermal water from Yumura Hot Springs in Japan, and replenish and rejuvenate as they clean.

Pluck Perfectly

Maintain your brows on-the-go with the Tweezerman Mini Brow Rescue Kit ($25 at Tweezerman). The small pack fits even in the smallest of clutches, and comes equipped with a mini slant tweezer, brow brush and brow highlighter.

Does Double Duty

Create "new skin" with this Double Duty Exfoliator + Mask ($18 at Sephora). Use the two-in-one-treatment as a mask once a week for five minutes or as an exfoliator for up to two times a week to leave skin feeling soft and clean.

Eyes of Youth

Known as the "instant lift serum," this Lumene Time Freeze Eye Perfecting Treatment ($19.99 at CVS) provides both immediate and long-term effects for your peepers. Its anti-aging ingredients -- Metabiotics Resveratrol and Arctic Heather -- promote firmness and collagen production around the eyes, and support skin's elasticity as it moisturizes.
